When will the Bhartiya dand sanhita come into force?Bhartiya dand sanhita (Indian Penal Code) is a law. However, the Indian Penal Code will be replaced by the Indian Justice Code 2023, which was passed by the Parliament on 15 December 2023. The new code will come into force from 1 April 2024. It aims to simplify and modernize the criminal law and make it more responsive to the changing needs of society.
