What is IPC 93 IPC 93 is a section of the Indian Penal Code that deals with communication made in good faith. It states that no communication made in good faith is an offence by reason of any harm to the person to whom it is made, if it is made for the benefit of that person¹. For example, if a doctor tells a patient that he has a terminal illness, and the patient dies of shock, the doctor has not committed any offence, as he was acting in good faith and for the benefit of the patient. This section is part of Chapter IV of the IPC, which covers general exceptions to criminal liability.
