Bharatiya Shakhs sahita Bharatiya Shakhs sahita is a civil code of India, which addresses individuals' name, address, date of birth, gender, religion, caste, citizenship, marriage, divorce, genealogy, inheritance, will and other such subjects. The Code, along with the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023 (BNS), the Indian Judicial Code, 2023 (BNS) and the Indian Evidence Act, 2023 (BSA), is part of India's new criminal justice system. The objective of the Indian Civil Code is to provide a uniform, simple and accessible civil law to the citizens of India, which respects their personal autonomy, privacy and diversity. This Code creates a common civil law for the various religious, cultural and social communities of India, stipulating their rights, duties and responsibilities. Under the Indian Person Code, all citizens of India are given a special person code.
